Farewell, friends

Brian, Jen, Estelle and Oliver moved to San Antonio today. Last night we threw them a going away party (along with the Millers). We had a great time visiting one last time before they made their departure. Good luck in Texas, Broadwells!

453

That's the number of days Camden went without an ear infection. We went to MidCity today and as soon as the doctor put the scope thingy to his ear she said "he has an ear infection and it looks like it hurts". So that explains all the whining he's been doing over the past couple of days. They were pretty impressed that he made it to almost 15 months without having an ear infection. He also has a cold, which I seem to be suffering as well.
So far Landry and Blake are still well. We'll see how long that lasts!
It's fun in the Rainey house this week!

Really?

Haley commented that she thought this picture of Landry looked like a redheaded Camden. This picture of Camden is from the day he turned 4 months old. I don't really see it. I do think they favor, but not all that much.

Round 2 for the Jumperoo

We broke out the trusty ol' jumperoo this evening. Surprisingly, as soon as we put Landry in it she started checking things out. Camden thought he needed to show her how to use it, so he raised his shirt and started bouncing up and down. I'm not sure what the naked belly has to do with it, but it was definitely part of the deal.

A Poll

Who does Landry look like to you guys in this picture? As soon as I took it and it flashed on the screen of my camera I thought it looked like Daddy and Haley. Mom said it looked like Tanner and Daddy said it looked like Aidan.

Happy Birthday, Papa!

My Papa turned 83 years young today. We had a family get-together for him at Uncle Bruce and Aunt Linda's house. Papa left his Speedo at home, so he didn't take a dunk in the pool, but much of the younger crowd did. Camden had a great time splashing and going under. He seemingly has NO fear of the water, which is somewhat frightening to me. We'd be motoring around and he'd just push off of me thinking he was going to go it alone. When I took him out of the pool he hit me in the face! Something tells me he didn't want to get out!

We ate every kind of smoked meat known to man, which makes the Waters clan very happy. There were LOTS of tasty sides, too. Jen and her family are still in town, so we got to do a little more visiting with them. It was a very nice day!

We had a great time visiting and celebrating. Thanks Uncle Bruce and Aunt Linda for having us over! Happy Birthday, Papa. We love you!

Camden's first boat ride

Camden enjoyed his first ever ride on the boat today. He loved it, although he wasn't so much in love with his life vest. His little torso is a tad too short for the vest right now. Alex wasn't much of a fan of the boat, but he didn't seem to be feeling his best today. He fell asleep on his mom, which is impressive because the lake was pretty rough this afternoon.

We were invited by the Schoonover's to spend the weekend with them at their family lake house on Lake Claiborne. We went out there Saturday morning and got in late tonight. Packing the entire house for one night kind of stinks, but we needed to get back so we could take care of some things around the house and visit with our kin folks before they go home Tuesday. We had a very nice time. Thanks for the hospitality!

Friday with the Deckers

My cousin Jennifer and her family are in town from Las Vegas for a visit. Jen, Frank and Mollie stayed with us on Friday. We had dinner, played with the kids and tried to scare a snake out of a crevice on the front porch. Jennifer brought Camden and Landry the clothes she embroidered for them. They're awesome! Landry was in bed, so Abigail got to wear her onesie for a few minutes. We had a wonderful time visiting with our family from far away and look forward to seeing them again before they head back west!

Happy 4 Months, Landry!

Landry turned 4 months old yesterday. Her little personality seems to be growing more and more every day. She's figured out that her hands can get things to her mouth this week, as well as discovering that she controls her feet. She keeps rubbing the soles of her feet together. She still thinks her big brother is the coolest thing ever. When he walks up to her while she's in her swing she gets the biggest smile, but recently she's been getting her feelings hurt when he toddles off. We're having tons of fun watching her change a little every day!

Tuesday's Project: Clean Out the Undershirt Drawer

Tonight Camden decided that Blake's t-shirt drawer needed some maintenance. Every few days he usually pulls a couple of t-shirts out, but tonight he emptied the entire drawer. Good thing he stopped at one drawer!

Landry's 4 month check up

Eating her hand (we interrupted lunch for the visit)
Oblivious to what's about to happen to her
Admiring herself with Dr. Scott
Waiting on her shots with Daddy

Landry had her 4 month check up a few days early. She weighs 15 pounds, 5 ounces (85th percentile) and is 24.5 inches long (66th) percentile. I think Uncle Dr. Scott was being generous with the 66th percentile. She's gained almost 2 pounds and has grown an inch and a half since April 29th. She got 3 shots and one medicine orally. Camden's 4 months shots knocked him on his rear for about 3 days. Hopefully Landry will handle them a little better, but so far it's not looking so good, as she was a little fussy for Nana this afternoon.
*For comparison, Camden weighed 18 pounds, 1 ounce and was 25 inches long at 4 months.
