Breaking him in early

Camden tried to enjoy a beverage at Superior tonight. Unfortunately for him it was only an empty Diet Coke. We'll wait a little while longer to break him in on the margaritas - at least until I can enjoy one with him!

Happy Sunday!

I hope everyone had a nice weekend. Here are some photos from our Sunday.

This is Cousin Jeremy with Camden and his new little boy, Brody.
This is the first time Brody and Camden met. Camden's a lot bigger than Brody, but that's because he's 8 weeks older.

Dee put Camden down on the floor and he immediately rolled over. That was his first complete roll ever. We obviously should put him down more often!
He likes the floor much better when someone else is down there with him.

High-Tech Babies

We got an email from Cousin Hayden tonight.
"Hey Camden . . . what's up man?"

to which we replied:
"Not much, Hayden. How's the West Coast?"

The boys are really communicating well these days!

The Ladies' Man

Camden rendezvoused with the Miller girls last night. Camden was looking at Blake, Gabrielle was looking at Adam and Lillian was staring at the TV - no one would look at the lady with the camera! They're all still super cute though.

Meeting the McKibbens

Tonight Camden met Wendy and her parents for the first time. I've always called them Other Mother and Other Dad, so for Camden we're just sticking "Other" before their grandparent names, which makes them Other Aw-Maw and Other Pop Pop. Other Aw-Maw kept him laughing. He definitely knows a grandmother when he sees one!

The Details

I suppose it would be nice of me to provide you guys with some details. We went to the OB on Friday. We walked in with our tails tucked because we expected to get in trouble. We were very surprised when the doc couldn't stop saying "this is great!" We gave him all the information we had on the situation, and he came up with a due date of March 6th, which jived with what we had figured. We got the "don't compare this pregnancy with the last" speech and all of the other obligatory stuff. We went in for the ultrasound and when that large thing you see in the previous post showed up Blake said "wait a minute". When we first saw what would eventually become Camden he was a black speck in a world of grainy gray. We just trusted that the doctor knew what he was talking about when he said "this is where your baby is". This thing we were looking at Friday had a head and arms and we could already see and hear the heartbeat. We figured at that point that our calculations were way off. Dr. Pineda took some measurements and informed us that we were not 6 weeks pregnant, but 10. So after we stopped laughing (because we didn't know what else to do), he went through my chart and scratched out some of his previous notes and replaced the original estimated due date with February 8th. So our children will not be a year apart, but 11 months. And I will have 2 children while I'm 32. Not many people can say that, but how many would want to, really? We're finally getting past the shock and onto the excitement about having a new baby to love. Here we go again!

What does this look like?

A little brother or sister for Camden, perhaps?

The Jolly Green Bean Giant

Camden graduated today from eating in his Bumbo to eating in a real highchair. Today was his third day of green beans and he really seems to like them. I think tomorrow we'll try carrots.

A lot of years

After 36 years of marriage, 3 kids and 6 grandkids they're still putting up with each other. Happy Anniversary, Mom and Dad. I love you!

Spoon Fed

We started feeding Camden rice cereal with a spoon last week and moved on to veggies today. So far all he's had is squash. This picture is from the morning attempt, and after it was over I had to clean squash off of me and out of his nose. It was hard to tell if he liked it at first, but when I gave it to him again this afternoon he actually opened his mouth and leaned in toward the spoon (which really aids in the eating department). Hopefully he won't be a picky eater. We'll go with the squash for 2 or 3 more days and then switch to something equally as yucky sounding, like peas or carrots.

Growing wide, but not so much tall!

Camden had his 4 month checkup today. Unfortunately, it included three more shots, which weren't well-received. Camden was 18 pounds and 1 ounce. He jumped almost 5 pounds in one month from the 50th percentile in weight to the 93rd! We were a little concerned that we might get in trouble for that, but Dr. Scott said he was doing great and whatever we were doing was obviously agreeing with him. He was 25 inches long (still in the 50th percentile) and his head was 17 inches (which moved him to the 75th percentile in the head department). He's been a little fussy since we got home, but that makes for really sweet cuddle time! Here are some photos from our day.

At the office with Daddy before my appointment.

Posing with my Daffy Duck and Bugs Bunny bandages.

Letting Mom make it all better.

Happy 4 Months!

Camden turned 4 months old today. What a big boy!
