My cousin thinks she's funny!

Jennifer bought a program for her daughter that includes these little dialogue bubbles and probably all kinds of other things I could never figure out how to use. I got an email that said "Do you have something against red eye reduction?" attaching this edited version of Landry's picture from earlier today. She IS pretty funny, isn't she?
**** UPDATE ****
Jennifer and Mollie got even more creative!

A wonderful day

We had a great evening that finished off a pretty special day. We thought we were going to miss out on the park because Camden napped from 4 to 6 and then had to eat. He was so well-rested that we thought we'd take a chance, and it turned out great. We had an awesome time watching Camden walking around playing like a big boy. He walked about 50 yards in uneven grass and only fell down twice. We think he would have stayed upright except for the fact that he was too interested in picking the flowers growing in the clover. Once again, Landry (say it with me . . .) just chilled. Camden would stop periodically to check on her, walking up to the stroller saying "Hey guhl".

It was so nice to spend an unexpected afternoon with Blake. I feel like I got a gift and it wasn't even my birthday!

Daddy's birthday lunch

We went to Tokyo Japanese Grill today for Blake's birthday lunch. We were curious to see what Camden thought about the flames from the hibachi grill. The first time they lit the oil on fire he just about jumped out of his highchair into my lap. It was pretty funny. By the second go 'round he was fine. Landry just chilled, as usual. Blake decided to take the rest of his birthday off of work, so we're having a nice afternoon with the kids. When Camden wakes up from his nap we're going to go to the park and play for a little while. More photos to come!

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Today Blake turns 36. Camden and Landry gave him a digital frame, and we got it all loaded up with the pictures from Kristin Mosura and some other cute pictures we've taken over the past several months. Now he can enjoy a slideshow from his office chair everyday.

Happy birthday to my sweet, sweet husband. We love you very much and are thankful for such a wonderful husband and father! We hope you have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday, Zach!

On Sunday Camden's friend Zachary turned 1. Camden and I attended our fourth 1st birthday party since the new year. Camden had a good time showing everyone how well can walk. And as you can see, Zach had a wonderful time digging into his birthday cake. Once again we were surrounded by extremely cute kiddos!

Landry's 3 month stats

Landry had her 3 month check up today. She weighs 13 pounds, 9 ounces (75th percentile) and is 23 inches long (25th percentile). Her head diameter is 15.5 inches (50th percentile). She's a short, chunky monkey! The nurse pricked her finger to do an anemia test. She passed! She didn't like it at all, but the tears didn't last too terribly long. She had her physical therapy session on Friday, and is doing great. We have to go back every three months until she's walking and talking. This is apparently a requirement for all NICU babies, even though she wasn't premature. Dr. Scott said it's a money-making racket. I think he's right, because she's either ahead of or right on track for all of her developmental milestones. She's a healthy baby girl!

Dancing fool

Here's the dancing guy from the concert Saturday night. You can tell when Anne Marie got busted videoing him! Pretty funny stuff.

Saturday night

4 tickets to Lynyrd Skynyrd and Hank Williams, Jr.: $300.00

2 babysitters for 4 kids under 14 months: $200.00

Hamburger, nachos, chicken finger basket and 4 - 24 ounce beers: $100.00

Spending 7 hours doing anything but changing diapers: Priceless

Anne Marie and Brett had tickets for the Rowdy Frynds tour, so we tagged along. We had fun people-watching, but the concert didn't do much for us. The music was soooo loud that it was distorted. We watched all of Skynyrd (and Blake pointed out that every member of that group is likely toting a Medicare card), but we left after the first 3 or 4 Hank songs. There was a crazy dancing guy one row behind us that made the evening especially worthwhile. Anne Marie got some good video (until he busted her), so when she sends it I'll post it here for your viewing pleasure.

The highlight of the evening was definitely this mullet:

This braided rat-tail mullet was pretty impressive, also.

You can tell we were definitely hanging with the upper-crust last night!

A photo op gone bad

I thought putting the kids in the chair and taking a picture of them would be a good idea.
And it went pretty well until I took Landry's pacifier away from Camden.
Because sometimes when he gets mad at me he hits her.
She immediately started bawling, and when I got onto him he chimed in.
I just took this picture because I thought the fact that I was laughing proved: a) that I'm a very patient person, or b) that I'm crazy!

Happy 3 months, Landry!

Landry is 3 whole months old today. We were supposed to go in for her 3 month well check, but our doctor had a family emergency and we had to reschedule. We'll have her stats on Tuesday.

This is a 3 month old food compared to an almost 14 month old foot.

He's good!

These videos are from Tuesday. His walking improves daily, so he's way better today!

Developmental update

I figured I better put this stuff on the blog so when I go back and finally complete Camden's baby book I'll have something to reference.
Words:
  1. Ma-muh
  2. Da-da
  3. Hey Dah (he calls Blake "Hey Dah" most of the time)
  4. Nana (Blake's mom)
  5. Dee (my mom)
  6. Pop (my dad is Pop and Blake's dad is Pop Steve. This sometimes comes out "Papa")
  7. Chah (Blake's step-dad goes by "Chappy")
  8. Oh-uh (uh-oh backwards - this is most often used after he deliberately throws something on the floor)
  9. Door (sounds like doe)
  10. More (sounds kind of like a combination of muh and moe)
  11. Hey
  12. Hey boy (bowee)
  13. Hi girl (guh)
  14. Bye-bye (accompanied by a very limp-wristed wave)
  15. Hubba hubba hubba (hu-BUH hu-BUH hu-BUH)
  16. Go (as in "go, go mama" when I'm swinging him)
  17. Dog (sounds like doe with a G on the end)
Baby Signs:
  1. Light
  2. More
  3. All done
  4. He understands book and drink, but hasn't used them yet

Other things:

  • He's walking around like a mad man. He's still pretty wobbly, but is getting really good at keeping his balance while sitting down and standing back up in the middle of the room.
  • He continues to drive me nuts with his ability to open doors and either escape to the great outdoors or find a toilet to open up and put his hand in. Or to open Landry's door and wake her up. This thrills me to no end.
  • He loves to kiss Landry. He leans down toward her head saying "ahhhh" in a really sweet voice the whole time.
  • He likes to periodically taste-test Landry's pacifiers. He'll pull one out of her mouth, stick it in his mouth, and then put it back in her mouth. We think he's starting to figure out that the pink ones are not his.
  • He likes to pick out a book and crawl into my lap. He'll let me get through the first few pages and then he steals the book so he can turn the pages at his leisure. He still talks really sweetly to his books, too.
  • He climbed up in a patio chair at Danielle's all by himself (which is a bit frightening).
  • He seems to have figured out that the bed has edges and that if he doesn't turn around and crawl backwards he'll fall off. He's getting really good at his dismount.
  • He is NOT a fan of having his feet in the grass. We'll have to work on this one, because bare feet on grass is one of the most awesome feelings to me.
  • He loves to do a little jig when he hears music. It doesn't matter if it's the TV or one of his toys, he gets excited and starts bebopping to the tune.
And that's all I can think of for now, but I'm sure there's more.

A love for all things that go "vroom"

Camden loves vacuum cleaners. Maybe that stems from all the times we used the noise of the vacuum to get him to sleep when he was an infant. Whatever it is, he totally digs them and gets super peeved if you don't let him get his hands on whichever one is out at the time. He pushes (or pulls) them and says "vroom, vroom" the entire time. It turns out that it's a pretty good way to wear him out and get him down for a nap quicker.

Fish sticks and the fork

In an attempt to broaden Camden's horizons I got him a frozen kid meal that had fish sticks, mac and cheese and corn in it. I really didn't expect him to like the fish sticks, but to my surprise he ate them up like crazy. He's not a fan of touching slimy foods with his fingers, so I thought if I speared the macaroni for him he might use the fork. I think he may have gotten 3 or 4 noodles in his mouth before he got bored and started chewing on the end of the fork. It's progress though, right?

Happy April Birthdays!

We went to the Woollen's today to celebrate our April birthdays. Libby turned 12(!) on the 16th, Mom will be 29 (again) on the 22nd, and Blake will be 36 on the 30th. We had a great time eating, visiting and eating some more! We also did some eating.
