We're off!

I think we have officially packed the entire house for our trip to Grand Cayman tomorrow for Annie's wedding! Blake and I have about 4 changes of clothes, and Camden has pretty much everything he owns. I dare say that we will be prepared for just about anything the little guy throws at us. (I'm sure that statement will bite me in the rear in a couple of days!) Luckily we'll have TONS of family to help out while we're there.

Here's a picture of our little man in his gator onesie that his Aunt Tanya gave him. Here's Cousin Hayden in the same outfit. Won't they be cute in Grand Cayman together?

We'll be out of town until May 31st, but if we have an internet connection I'll try to at least post some photos. Have a great week everyone!

Cousins

Camden has had two new cousins born since he arrived. Cousin Hayden Jeffrey Ragusa was born on April 13th and Cousin Brody Payne Davis was born on May 13th (a nice mother's day gift for his mom!). Brody was a little early, so he's needed some extra special care, but word is that he's doing extremely well. Welcome little guys!

Happy Anniversary to us!!

Blake and I celebrated our second anniversary yesterday! We had a tasty dinner at The Cub and then went to El Dorado and played blackjack until way too late. We had a very nice evening and even left the casino with more money than we showed up with! For some reason we exchanged gifts this year. (We didn't subscribe to that tradition on our first anniversary - we're typically more of the card-giving types. But I'm not complaining!) I got a pair of earings that match my Mother's Day neclace, and I got Blake a Waterman pen. I know that wouldn't be very exciting to most people, but he loved it.
Here are a couple of photos from that wonderful day 2 years ago!

Happy Mother's Day!

I had a very nice first Mother's Day. Blake took care of Camden this morning and let me sleep until 10 a.m.! Then when I got up I got a very sweet card and a beautiful aquamarine neclace from my two favorite boys! We went to lunch and then did a little shopping for our upcoming trip. (Thanks for the inspiration, Mom!)
I hope all of you mothers out there had a terrific day! I am honored to finally be a part of the club!

Just to explain

Camden's birth announcements are FINALLY going out tomorrow. Apparently the US Postal Service is doing all they can to rid themselves of the 39 cent stamps they have on hand since postage changes to 41 cents next week, because when I went to the post office today all they had were these 39 cent stamps. Now I certainly mean these stamps no disrespect, but not only are these stamps WAYYY out of season, they're also not what I would have chosen for my son's birth announcements had I been given a choice. So basically I'm just letting you guys know that you'll probably giggle a little when you get the announcements. But at least you can giggle about that instead of giggling about the fact that the kid was almost 10 weeks old when his mom finally got the announcements in the mail!

Milestones

We had a few milestones today: Camden finally laughed when I tickled him, and he found a baby in the mirror on his activity gym. I'm sure he didn't know it was him, but it was pretty cute watching him smile and coo at whoever he thought it was! He said "goo" at the cute kid in the reflection several times. Then that kid obviously ticked him off because he was ready to be picked up shortly thereafter. He also went 4 hours between feedings today, which is a big deal during the day. He's normally a 3 hour (ON THE DOT!) kinda guy until night time rolls around. We bumped him up to 7 ounces of formula and one ounce of juice (for the difficult times, if you know what I mean) and he did awesome. We are completely and totally the lovey dovey mushy kind of parents we didn't think we'd be, and we don't apologize to anyone for it! (That comment is pretty much for my friends who remember the pre-baby cynical Carrie and are constantly surprised at how soft I've become!)

Play Time

This is a link to a video of Camden playing this morning. He was pretty cute, but he was kicking and kept getting his feet stuck in the camera strap so I had to cut the video short.
This one is of Daddy giving Camden tummy sugars.

The mom finally makes it into a picture with the kid!!

So I know that I look like crap, but after all, it IS part of my job to look like crap these days. Normally I wouldn't post pictures of me looking like crap, but I'm so excited that I actually made it into a picture with Camden that I couldn't help myself. It seems that the mom is usually the photographer, not the subject. Camden's doing great keeping his head under control and has really enjoyed jumping, if you can call it that. He still requires a little assistance.

Camden is PERFECTLY average!

We went for Camden's 2 month check up today. He is in the 50th percentile for weight (12 pounds, 1 ounce), height (23 inches) and head size (15 3/4 inches). We were very excited to hear how average he is! He also got three big, fat shots (well, I assume they were big and fat - I didn't actually watch). 2 out of 3 of us cried - you guess which 2! Dr. Scott was very happy with our little guy's progress, and I was glad to hear that I wasn't making him too fat!

Camden gets a passport!!

After much anticipation, the wait for Camden's passport is over. Although the US Government isn't totally convinced he's a US citizen yet, they did give us a temporary passport for him. Once we get his birth certificate we can mail it in and get a regular passport for the little fella. We still think it's ridiculous for a 2 month old to be required to have a passport, but at least now we know we're ALL going to Cousin Annie's wedding in Grand Cayman together! What a relief!!

Happy 2 Months, Camden!!

Camden gave me a very large gift, even though I'm not the one who turned 2 months today! I would like to note that he felt MUCH better after giving so much of himself to his mom (note the smile on his face)!
